Kapil Sharma became famous after winning a comedy TV show called The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’s third season in 2007. He won a cash prize of ₹10 lakh for this. Before that, he worked on a Punjabi show called Hasde Hasaande Ravo. He moved to Mumbai with dreams of becoming a singer. Later, he participated in Sony’s Comedy Circus and won six seasons. He also hosted shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6 and Chhote Miyan. In 2011, he was a contestant on Zee TV’s singing reality show Star Ya Rockstar, where he finished as a runner-up.
In 2013, Kapil started his own show called Comedy Nights with Kapil on Colors TV. he played the role of Bittu Sharma, the host of a fictional family show.
